Cool Cats in Tel Aviv University

evilphish

There's a tri-color (probably female) cat hanging around the Coffee to Go, at the main entrance to Tel Aviv University. What she does is pass through the people sitting there, eating and drinking, while possibly looking for leftovers to eat. She's pretty friendly.

There's a cat at the lawn outside the university right near the "Social Studies building". I can see him (or her) consistenly when biking through on Haim Levanon st. He's usually sitting on the edge of the stone fence, just resting.

When I passed through the other day, he was on the sidewalk, and acting strange, going around in circles. Maybe he was looking for something. I got off the bike and patted him (he let me), but he wasn't content with it either.

There's a female cat in Schreiber in TAU (where we hold the Tel Aviv Linux club presentations). People call her "Bruriyah" and she is considered the "Be'alim" (= owner) of Shcreiber. She's half-black half-white and not tri-color.

I'm not interested in non-paid internships
Hi!

Thanks for the offer, but sorry - I'm not interested in non-paid internships. While I have many good ideas for essays, articles or blog entries, and can probably never run out of decent ideas for technical things to write - I can make more money (and more fame, and other factors) by putting it on my blog or on my home page. By putting it on my homepage and then letting it hit the blogosphere I can:

1. Earn money from ads.

2. Gain more reputation.

3. Increase my page rank.

4. Have visitors visit other interesting pages on the site.

I can also have a technical article published on O'ReillyNet and get around $200-300 in return. If it's too small scope and on one of the blogs, it still keeps my blog active, and have people follow my links.

I'm pretty happy being a web publisher, rather than writing for paperware magazines. While it may be beneficial for me in the long run to write for magazines for free at first, I can eventually get some of my articles published, after writing them or different ones online. I'm a good writer, and I haven't marketed myself properly until now (see one of my next entries) and I think I know how to market myself better and get the reputation I deserve.

So thanks, but no thanks. If you'll be offering me a decent amount of money for the articles or the internship then I'll probably accept. But otherwise, I'm better off doing what I've been doing so far.

Sincerely yours,

Shlomi Fish

You could've just said "No, thanks", y'know :)

I could, but I didn't want to. If I say "no thanks", the guy who's asking this question doesn't know why. Further, I'll have to say "no thanks" time and again". So I chose to explain why. I always hate it when someone does it to me without an explanation. I have been rejected from Jobs all the time, after a few interviews, not telling me what I should do wrong.

And, for the record, Ofer, such comments are annoying.
